I can’t stop thinking about Stacie and the miracles that have occurred in her since coming to pray with us. Getting to know someone in prayer is such a different place than shaking their hand and making eye contact. If we can learn to pray honestly before others, our heart speaks louder than our words. Stacie has given us the privilege of hearing her heart. And in return, God has given us the privilege of sharing in her blessings of answered prayers. Here is part of the initial email she sent us:
“Hi ladies,
When we had our first meeting together at the coffee shop I shared with you I had a son I gave up for adoption. This evening an email has arrived from a young man, asking about the possibility of me being his birthmother. I’ve got a few emotions running in me right now to say the least.
I’d like to ask for you to pray for me and this young man. I need wisdom and to wait, watch and trust God. There is always the possibility that this could be a con man. A horrible thought but one I have to think about. I want specifically for God to confirm it is ok to send an email in reply before I do.
A few months ago you both talked about God giving us a promise and if God gives a promise He is faithful to fulfill it. Then not to long ago you spoke on laying down your life for a friend/loved one. Over Christmas while one day I was talking with Jesus in particular about not knowing if I could ever lay my life down for someone (I am learning about the depth of my self centeredness and it’s not pretty) it occurred to me that it might be a possibility that I would lay down my life for my son whom I’ve never met. What I heard God say at that point was He was going to bring my son this year. I try not to give to much weight to thoughts like that but since I’d never had a thought like that before I filed it under the wait and watch God file in my head.
Thanks for your prayers. Sorry if some of this is gibberish I’m a bit of a wreck but God’s peace is there in the middle of my heart. I’m thankful to Him for that and all His love He lavishes on me.
Much love,
Stacie”
Although we were unsure how all of this was going to work out, we knew that Stacie was hearing God’s voice and He would see her through. Well, last Thursday Stacie returned to the prayer group after a trip from the east coast. She had miraculously met her 28 year old son! She had pictures, numerous stories to share but most of all, Stacie was bubbling over with love and joy.
28 years ago, Stacie gave up her one and only son for adoption. Stacie had laid down her life sacrificially as the Father did for us by giving up His one and only Son. This was a true act of selflessness and love. God is so good that He intervened by having her one and only child contact her on Valentines Day 2007. All praise and glory goes to Him from whom all blessings flow.
This is how God showed his love among us:
He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him.
