It’s May, right? My calendar says it is "May" and the days are getting longer and the grass and flowers are growing…so, yes, it is technically spring. But, if you live in southern California, especially near the coast, there is a phenomenon called "May Gray" and even, "June Gloom." This past week, TL and I have had several appointments and meetings, in which we both showed up wearing traditional springtime clothing. On more than one occasion, we jumped into the car and turned on the HEAT…we were freezing. We kept thinking spring, yet the weather seemed more like winter. I remember my family from Tennessee coming to visit me one year in June. In Tennessee in June, it is hot and humid, so they brought only shorts, tops and bathing suits for the beach. They kept borrowing my jackets…to go to the beach! It will warm up and get hot around August, and we will have our days of summer mixed in with the gray and gloom, but for those of you who think San Diego is always balmy…well, not in the spring. With all that complaining, would I live anywhere else? Not a chance…God did a good thing creating such a beautiful place. I am always extremely thankful when I hear of other parts of the country suffering in their weather conditions and overall, it is pretty nice out here. TL and I just keep those jackets handy until the sun shines. Bobbye
